M+Q Granit was founded in Switzerland in June 1932 as a company specializing in the trading of marble and quartzite.

In 1982, the Italian branch opened in Marina di Carrara, with offices and stockyards that extended over an area of over 50,000 square meters. In October 1996, M+Q and Rexgraniti, one of the most widespread block distribution companies since 1963, joined forces combining the expertise of two of the oldest players in the block trade industry and resulting in M+Q becoming a leader in the retail block trade market. M+Q is able to offer customers a wide range of materials thanks to exclusive agreements with producers from all around the world. In 2005 Rexgraniti became M+Q Italia SpA.

In addition to the Marina di Massa branch, M+Q Italia has two other warehouses in Italy in Cavaion Veronese (Verona) and in Pozzallo (Sicily).
